Every summer, 40 top chamber-music students gather at a yellow barn in the small town of Putney to study and perform with acclaimed instructors at the appropriately named Yellow Barn Chamber Music School and Festival (Putney, 802/387-6637, www.yellowbarn.org [1], late June–early Aug.). The sound of violin and piano filling up the eaves of the rustic old barn makes for a magical five weeks of music.
