During the so-called Gilded Age, Lenox was ground zero for the barons of industry who made their homes here. Much of the character of the time is preserved in the green sculpted lawns and mammoth trees overhanging the roads, with an occasional mansion poking out of the greenery.
The Boston Symphony Orchestra’s [1] summer presence at Tanglewood [2] has spawned a cottage industry of other arts series and diversions, including a vibrant (if overpriced) gallery scene, and spas where the rich and famous come for respite from the spotlight.
