The main drag of Spring Street is full of art galleries and antiques shops. Owned by two Williams alumni (including a former overseer of Boston’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum [1], the Harrison Gallery (39 Spring St., 413/458-1700, www.theharrisongallery.com [2], 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Mon.–Sat.; 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Sun.) displays artists of national standing.
LiAsia Gallery (31 Spring St., 413/458-1600, www.liasiagallery.com [3]) specializes in antique Chinese altar tables and architectural items.
The overwhelming Library Antiques (70 Spring St., 413/458-3436, 11 a.m.–5 p.m. Mon.–Fri.; 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Sat.; noon–5 p.m. Sun.) has everything from Victorian-era books to mahogany beds from India.
