Much of Cuttyhunk’s [1] allure is its distinct lack of things to do and see—that is, other than watch the sunset over grassy cliffs, pick wildflowers, and slurp oysters on the dock. However, a few sites do deserve a visit: foremost the Navy Lookout Bunker (Tower Rd.) that sits at the island’s highest point, boasting breathtaking views of nearly the entire island and its surrounding waters.
Another worthy jaunt: through the Nature Preserve/Cliff Walk (follow the road past the Fishing Club) conservation lands, which stretch through winding trails in flower-filled woods and windswept marshes.
