Made famous by The Perfect Storm, the Crow’s Nest (334 Main St., Gloucester, 978/281-2965) is just as rough-and-tumble as you’d expect. Be forewarned, no one as cute as Mark Wahlberg or George Clooney warms the barstools.
The highlight of the year in Gloucester is the St. Peter’s Fiesta (www.stpetersfiesta.org [1], late June), a five-day Italian festival that celebrates Gloucester’s fishing community with boat races, the annual “blessing of the fleet,” and the always-entertaining greasy pole contest.
