After years in a cramped spot in Quincy Market, the Comedy Connection (The Wilbur Theatre, 146 Tremont St., 800/745-3000, www.thewilburtheatre.com [1], $12–24) has hit the big time with a move into the Theater District [2]. In addition to local up-and-comers, it routinely books the biggest names in yuks, recently including Bill Maher, Janeane Garofalo, and Mike Bribiglia. (The Wilbur Theatre also occasionally hosts rock acts such as Neko Case and Sonic Youth.)
Quick-thinking young comics incorporate audience suggestions into improvisational sketches à la Whose Line Is It Anyway? at the North End [3]’s ImprovAsylum (216 Hanover St., 617/263-6887, www.improvasylum.com [4]).
