Hunting

Hunting is huge in Texas, and the state’s sheer size provides countless opportunities to grab a gun and wait patiently for your critter of choice. Deer hunting is one of the biggest draws, and deer season has a major cultural and economic impact on much of the state. Pick up a community newspaper during the winter and you’ll find plenty of photos of hunters, ranging in age from 8 to 88, in the back of their pick-ups proudly displaying the rack of the buck they just killed.
