Marty Sanchez Links de Santa Fe (205 Caja del Rio Rd., 505/955-4400, www.linksdesantafe.com [1]) is a “water-aware” course that uses indigenous grasses and other plants to minimize water use. It offers great views of the mountains as you tour the 18 holes designed by Baxter Spann; there’s also “The Great 28,” an additional par-3 nine-holer that’s exceptionally challenging. With five sets of tees, the course is good for both beginners and experts. Greens fees are reasonable, starting at $31 for weekday play.
