Religion

A wide variety of religions and belief systems have come to characterize California. The state is home to large populations of Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, and even Wiccan religions and Scientologists. Many urban centers, especially San Francisco [1] and Los Angeles [2], provide houses of worship or religious centers for practitioners of these and many other faiths.

Many Californians cherish the religious tolerance found here, and the right and ability of all to practice their desired form of worship is widely protected. So expect to see everything from rigorous observance of Lent to traditional Chinese New Year to pagan solstice rituals in the park.
