If you’re coming to San Diego [1] from Los Angeles [2], you’ll be relieved by the easing of traffic. If you’re coming from anyplace else, you may be horrified by the packed highways. In the grand scheme of California transit, San Diego isn’t the worst place to try to get around. The highway network makes some sense, there’s almost adequate in-town public transit, and the rail and air travel centers bustle with activity.
If you prefer human-powered transportation, San Diego [1]’s fabulous weather, generally safe streets, and miles of mostly along-the-coast paths make bicycling and walking eminently possible as your major mode of transportation.
