If all you want is a slab of really fresh fish, you can get it down on the Pleasure Pier at Avalon Seafood (Pleasure Pier, 310/510-0197). That’s the cute blue building at the end of the pier bearing a sign that says “Fish and Chips.”
It’s part fish-and-chips stand, part fresh seafood market, and you can get a casual eat-at-the-picnic-table lunch or barbecued fish dinner here.
Or if you’ve got kitchen or barbecue access, pick up the catch of the day and make a fresh fish dinner for yourself and your family or friends.
