The favorite of many Disneyland [1] visitors, Fantasyland rides tend to cater to the younger set. And for many Disneyphiles, the ultimate expression of Uncle Walt’s dream is the Small World. Toddlers adore this ride, which introduces their favorite Disney characters and the famous (some would say infamous) song.
You can almost feel the fairy dust sprinkling down on you as you tour this magical miniature kingdom. (Warning: If ultra-cutesiness makes you gag, you might want to skip this one.)
Kids who are just a little bit older might prefer the crazy fun of Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. Even though it’s not really a roller coaster, this ride makes for big fun for children and adults alike. What’s cool about Mr. Toad’s is the wacky scenery you’ll get to see along the ride, from a sedate library to the gates of hell.
If it’s a faster thrill you’re seeking, head for one of the most recognizable landmarks at Disneyland [1]. The Matterhorn roller coaster looks like a miniature version from its namesake in the Swiss Alps. Inside it, you’ll board a sled-style coaster car and plunge down the mountain on a twisted track that takes you past rivers, glaciers, and the Abominable Snowman.
