If you’re looking for a fairly standard shopping expedition in Santa Barbara [1], go to State Street. From end to end, this busy main drag hosts a near-unbelievable array of mall-style stores, plus a few independent boutiques for variety.

You’ll find lots of lovely women’s apparel, plenty of housewares stores, and all the usual stuff you’d expect to find in a major urban shopping center. In truth, there’s little that’s truly special on State Street—it’s a sprawled-out, mid-to-upper tier mall.
