Even if you’re not up for hardcore skiing [1], you can get out and enjoy the snow-covered landscapes of wintertime Yosemite [2]. Snowshoeing requires no experience and only minimal fitness to get started. “If you can walk, you can snowshoe,” claims Yosemite’s own website.
You can rent snowshoes at several locations in Yosemite and acquire trail maps from the rental centers. The Cross Country Ski School (www.yosemitepark.com/BadgerPass.aspx [3]) offers guided hikes and winter camping trips.
