One of the odder attractions you’ll find in the North Bay [1] is the San Francisco Bay Model (2100 Bridgeway, Sausalito, 415/332-3871, www.spn.usace.army.mil/bmvc [2], summer Tues.–Fri. 9 a.m.–4 p.m., Sat.–Sun. 10 p.m.–5 p.m., call for hours in fall, winter, and spring). Here you can see a scale model of the way the Bay works, complete with currents and tides.
Why would you want to see this? Scientist and engineering types love to see how the waters of the bay really move and work. For the rest of us… aw heck, why not?
