Decorating the rocky shoreline, about half a mile east of Puerto Ángel [1] bay, Playa Estacahuite (ay-stah-kah-WEE-tay) is actually two beaches in one: a pair of luscious coral-sand nooks teeming with fish grazing the living reef just offshore. (Don’t put your hands in crevices; a moray eel may mistake your finger for a fish and bite.)
A pair of palapa restaurants perched picturesquely above the beaches provide food and drinks. Get there in less than a mile by taxi or on foot via the dirt road that forks right off the highway, about 400 yards uphill from beachfront Bulevar Uribe.
