Possibly Hanga Roa [1]’s best value, in terms of price-quality ratio, Hotel Otai (Te Pito Te Henua s/n, tel. 0322/100250, fax 0322/100560, otairapanui [at] entelchile [dot] net, US$85/115 s/d) has one major drawback, its exposure to sound waves from the Toroko disco.
Near Caleta Hanga Piko, Hotel Hangaroa (Av. Pont s/n, tel./fax 0322/100299, www.panamericanahoteles.cl [2], US$110/120 s/d) is an upmarket hotel with a bar/restaurant offering live entertainment, plus shops and a swimming pool. It’s fallen behind others in its range, though.
Enjoying an isolated waterfront site west of the airport, Hotel Iorana (Policarpo Toro s/n, tel./fax 0322/100312, US$100/134 s/d) is certainly one of Hanga Roa [1]’s best, but arguably overpriced for the level of service.
On sprawling grounds just south of Caleta Hanga Roa, the not-so-new but still sparkling Hotel Tahatai (Av. Policarpo Toro s/n, tel./fax 051/551192, www.hoteltahatai.cl [3] US$140/165 s/d) has spacious, well-lighted accommodations with private bath, breakfast, and a swimming pool.
