Banquitas Plaza (tel. 501/322-0517, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Mon.–Fri., free) is an exhibition hall that presents a broad exhibit about Orange Walk–area history, culture, and industry, and the work of local artisans. The hall also hosts special traveling exhibits on Maya and African archaeology and the modern culture of Central America.
The plaza comes alive on Friday and Saturday nights, when young Orange Walk couples stroll the river walk enjoying the cool evening together. The nearby amphitheater hosts monthly cultural activities.
