The Festival Histórico de Campeche is a huge cultural festival when musicians, dance troupes, and artists come to perform or exhibit their work in and around at the city. Most of the events take place in the central plaza [1], including the kickoff concert. Lasting the entire month of December, festivalgoers enjoy the added bonus of checking out local handicrafts as well as tasting Campeche [2]’s culinary treats, both sold at street-side stands.

Since 1996, the Festival de Jazz has been held in Campeche city during the entire month of December. Attracting musicians from all over the world, a different guest country and Mexican state are the focus of the programming.
