Groceries are available at stores near the El Super corner (Km 72) or in the villages of Perula (on the beach, turn off at Km 74), San Mateo (Km 70), and Chamela (walk north along the beach, or follow the side road, downhill, at the south end of the bridge between Km 64 and 63).
Hearty country Mexican food, hospitality, and snack groceries are available at the Tejeban truck stop/restaurant (tel. 315/333-9705, morning until 10:30 p.m. daily) at the El Super corner. Two popular local roadside seafood spots (8 a.m.–9 p.m. daily, $5–10) are the La Viuda (The Widow, Km 64) and Don Lupe Mariscos (Km 63), on opposite ends of the Río Chamela bridge. They both have their own divers who go out daily for fresh fish, octopus (pulpo), conch, clams, oysters, and lobster.
