Rincón de Guayabitos [1] has more far more hotels than any other town in Nayarit [2], including the state capital, Tepic [3]. Competition keeps standards high and prices, for the most part, moderate. During the low season (Sept.–Dec. 15), most places are more than half empty and ready to bargain. During the winter season, the livelier part of town is at the south end, where the foreigners, mostly Canadian and American RV folks, congregate.

Guayabitos has many lodgings that call themselves “bungalows.” This generally implies a motel-type suite with kitchenette and less service, but sleeping more people than most hotel rooms. For long stays or if you want to save money by cooking your own meals, bungalows can provide an attractive option.
