A few arts-and-crafts gallery-shops sprinkle main street Avenida Tercer Mundo. In the middle of town, the Oasis gift shop sells crafts and T-shirts, profits from which go to the local turtle protection project.
San Francisco has acquired a history museum that tells stories of the local past, from the days of the old haciendas to President Luis Echeverría, who came, fell in love with San Pancho, and gave the town its first big boost. Find the museum on Avenida Tercer Mundo, corner of Calle Latina America. Hours vary, depending upon the availability of volunteers.
Also Galería Corazón (9 a.m.–5 p.m. Mon.–Sat., closed July through Sept.), across Avenida Tercer Mundo from Calandria Realty, features an eclectic assortment of locally crafted candles, ceramics, woodcrafts, textiles, and more.
