The most common way to arrive to Peru [1] is by plane. That means you will fly into Lima [2] and then, in all likelihood, wait for a plane to Cusco [3] or another city. Because of flight patterns, most visitors end up spending at least a half day in Lima—so plan on spending some time there. It’s a big and bustling city, and we recommend visiting at the end of a Peru trip once you have learned to navigate a smaller Peruvian city, such as Cusco.
Though Lima takes some getting used to, Peru veterans linger in Lima for its food, unique cultural mix, museums, art scene—did we mention food?
