Located inside the brick building in People’s Park [2] that looks like an ancient Chinese ding cooking pot, Shanghai Museum is a wealth of cultural and historical information about the city. It moved to its current location in 1996, having grown too large for the old clubhouse building that is now the Shanghai Art Museum.
Browsing your way through all 120,000 relics would take a while, so focus your energies on the bronzes, Ming and Qing furniture, coins, and jade halls for an overview of Chinese history.
To make sure you see the best parts, book yourself onto a personal guided tour through www.newmantours.com [3].
