Australian chef Craig Willis has made his mark on Shanghai as head chef for the popular Wagas café  chain. His solo endeavor on Anfu Road is an upscale but casual bistro serving hearty comfort food in a relaxed, apartment-style location.
Wooden floors and spot-lit tables lead to a wall of windows looking out onto the treetops. Looking in, the open kitchen lets you watch the chefs cook your meal.
The simple menu offers Western staples like roast beef and chicken, along with sides of rosemary flecked potatoes and vegetables. Ingredients are locally sourced and often organic. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends.
