Sanlitun Village is a contemporary architectural development containing luxury and Western brands, like Armani, and mid-range names, like Adidas, Mango, Apple, Diesel, and Steve Madden. Food options include healthy salad and sandwich chain Element Fresh and 30 other restaurants, covering a range of cuisines.
The open-plan mall is made up of 19 glass-walled buildings split into the North and South Villages, with alleys and courtyards that are clearly supposed to represent the hutong (alleys) that were torn down to construct the mall. The development was designed by Tokyo architect Kengo Kuma and bankrolled by Swire Properties.
