China’s largest and most important English-language literary event takes place every March at the Glamour Bar [2]. It was established in 2003 by Michelle Garnaut (owner of M on the Bund [3] and Capital M in Beijing) and Jenny Laing Peach and gathers fiction and non-fiction writers from around the world to present hour-long author talks and Q&A sessions over several weekends.
Each year features around 90 authors across 65 sessions. Previous events included big names like Louis de Bernières, Thomas Keneally, Gore Vidal, and Amy Tan. The schedule also includes literary lunches and round table debates.
Tickets for each event are sold separately on the website. They usually cost ¥65 apiece and include a drink.
