Soi Wanit betw. Mahachak and Chakra Phet Rds.
pier: Surawong
HOURS: Daily 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
This busy market begins where Sampeng Lane crosses Mahachak Road and becomes known as Soi Wanit. The market has been covered over with makeshift roofs and filled with everything from sewing notions to gold and whatever you can think of in between, including snack and fruit vendors.
The market is very narrow and crowded, although that doesn’t stop the frequent motorcycles carrying goods from making their way through; if you’re claustrophobic you may want to skip this one.
If you can handle the crowding and the heat that goes along with it, this is one of Bangkok [1]’s best market experiences!
