Just to the right of National Assembly Hall is the Dusit Zoo, which houses both indigenous animals, such as elephants and barking deer, and more “exotic” animals, such as ostriches and kangaroos.
In the center of the zoo is a large lake where you can rent paddleboats; aside from the variety of Thai snacks available, it’s quite a typical zoo, but it is a great diversion for those with kids, especially if they’re bored of all of the area’s cultural sights and want an opportunity to run around.
