Hanga Roa [1] has a pair of discos, both of which stay open very late on weekends. You can hear the lively, youthful Toroko (Policarpo Toro s/n), near Ahu O’rongo, from far off; near the airport, Piditi (Av. Hotu Matua s/n) draws a more mature public.
Bars include the Banana Pub (Atamu Tekena s/n), which sometimes features live music; Pub Topatangi (Atamu Tekena s/n, tel. 0322/551694), which has live music Thursday–Sunday evenings; Aloha (Atamu Tekena s/n, tel. 0322/551383); and Mahatu Pub (Te Pito Te Henua s/n), near Caleta Hanga Roa.
Now lighted, the soccer field at the corner of Policarpo Toro and Te Pito Te Henua is the site of spirited Sunday matches.
