From Cabo Nombre, at Bahía San Sebastián’s north end, to the Río Ewan’s outlet southeast of Río Grande [1], the Isla Grande’s Atlantic shoreline is a bird sanctuary because of the abundant plovers and sandpipers, some of which migrate between the Arctic and South America.
Near the San Sebastián border post is the private Refugio de Vida Silvestre Dicky, a prime wetland habitat of 1,900 hectares.
