But for an extraordinary assortment of traditional Mapuche silverwork—unfortunately, it lacks space to display all 600 pieces in the collection—Los Ángeles [1]’s municipal museum would be truly mediocre.
Even then, the lack of accompanying text makes it seem more like a jewelry store before the price tags have been affixed, but, as it’s rare to see this much quality jewelry in one place, it’s well worth a detour from the Panamericana.
The musuem (Colón 195, 2nd floor, tel. 043/409400) is open 8 a.m.–1:45 p.m. and 3–6:30 p.m. weekdays only. Admission is free.
