La Ligua [1] has inexpensive but pleasing lodgings at Residencial Regine II (Condell 360, tel. 033/711196, US$12 pp with private bath). A block west of the Plaza de Armas, surrounding a sunny atrium, some rooms at Hotel Anchimallén (Ortiz de Rosas 694, tel. 033/711683, hotelanchimallen [at] hotmail [dot] com, US$31/47 s/d) are worn, but they’re also spacious, luminous, and clean. Rates include breakfast, cable TV, and parking.
Lihuén (Ortiz de Rosas 303, tel. 033/711143) offers snacks, sandwiches, and homemade ice cream, and more elaborate meals in its more formal restaurant next door. Costa Brava (Ortiz de Rozas s/n), half a block west of the Plaza de Armas, is a seafood specialist.
