Highest of the three ski resorts [1], 14 kilometers beyond the Farellones junction, Valle Nevado reaches 3,670 meters above sea level, though its base is 2,860. There are 37 kilometers of trails, even more for those who can afford to indulge in helicopter dropoffs that aren’t accessible by the lifts.
Among the restaurants, La Trattoria has reasonably priced pizza with thin crust and a fair number of toppings, including scallops and artichoke, but the buffet is expensive. Its Slalom is the fast-food outlet.
