In a class of its own, the new Centro Cultural Palacio La Moneda (Plaza de la Ciudadanía s/n, tel. 02/3556500, www.ccplm.cl [1]). In addition to gigantic atrium and special exhibit galleries, facilities include the Cineteca Nacional (national film archive, with regular repertory programs) and a sprawling crafts shop displaying museum-quality pieces from artisans around the country (not all of these are for sale).
The Instituto Chileno-Norteamericano de Cultura (Moneda 1467, tel. 02/6963215) sponsors art exhibits and other events, and has an English-language library. The most elaborate and active foreign cultural center, though, is Providencia [2]’s Centro Cultural de España (Av. Providencia 927, tel. 02/2351105), which sponsors events nearly every night.
