Built on a sloping bluff at the southern end of Isla Mujeres [1], Parque Garrafón (Carr. Garrafón Km. 6, tel. 998/849-4748, www.garrafon.com [2], 10 a.m.–5 p.m. daily, US$55–99 adult all-inclusive, US$39–75 child all-inclusive) is a combo ecopark and water park.
There are a variety of activities to choose from—snorkeling, kayaking, zip lining—as well as just relaxing on the beach or by the pool. Admission to Templo Ixchel [3], Isla Mujeres’s tiny Maya ruin, and the sculpture garden leading up to it, also is included.
On the whole, it’s a pretty place, but there’s not much to do here that you can’t just do for free, or for a fraction of the cost, elsewhere.
