A fishing town between Bahía Asuncíon [1] and Punta Abreojos [2], the settlement of La Bocana doesn’t hold much to interest for travelers beside some reportedly good fishing, but it can make for a quiet rest between other destinations on the peninsula.
It has one hotel, Hotel Adriana (on town’s main road, no tel.) which is attached to the grocery store Abarrotes Adriana (no tel.). Rooms in this two-story building go for US$25, and a long-distance phone is also available. There are usually one or two eateries open for simple meals or antojitos, as well as gas from a barrel and a llantera.
The road to Abreojos from here follows an unsigned mudflat; anyone in town can point you in the direction of it.
