Retiro’s Galería Ruth Benzacar (underground at Florida 1000, tel. 011/4313-8480, www.ruthbenzacar.com [4]) showcases some of the capital’s and the country’s most avant-garde artists.
Galería Rubbers (Avenida Alvear 1595, Recoleta, tel. 011/4816-1864, www.rubbers.com.ar [5]) is an excellent contemporary gallery.
Galería Vermeer (Suipacha 1168, Retiro [2], tel./fax 011/4393-5102, www.galeriavermeer.com.ar [6]) is less up-to-date but still a good one.
