Located near the town of Tilgue, on the northern part of the isthmus, El Ojo de Agua consists of crystal clear spring-fed waters captured in two natural, stone pools set in the middle of a gorgeous and colorful botanical garden.
Swim in the revitalizing waters the way the Nahautls probably did, then climb out to drip-dry in the sun. It’s essentially the only swimming hole on Ometepe [1] other than the lake itself, and the water is the cleanest you’ll find anywhere.
Your $2 entrance fee helps with maintenance, as does whatever you pay to take home some organic, herbal tea. Snacks are available at the little bar/shop, but nothing fancy.
