If you’re a starving artist and you owe Mexico’s government some back taxes, you may have a work in Galería SCHP (República de Guatemala 8, www.shcp.gob.mx/dgpcap, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. daily, free admission), run by the Finance Ministry. It’s housed in a colonial building right behind the Catedral. Here artists whose tax payments are delinquent may erase their tax debt by donating works of art.
