Bayahibe and Dominicus Beaches

Bayahibe and Dominicus Beaches

These beaches are reason enough to spend time in this part of the country. Whether your main focus is beach bumming or not, denying yourself a trip to this piece of paradise would be a mistake. The portions that have been overtaken by the all-inclusive resorts are meticulously maintained. Fortunately, there is still easily accessible public beach space available at both. Playa Bayahibe (right in the town of Bayahibe), with its white sand, has restaurants and food stands overlooking the beach, so you don’t have to go far for nourishment. The sand at Playa Dominicus outshines that of Playa Bayahibe. It’s far plusher, while Bayahibe’s is not as luxurious (but still nice!). Playa Dominicus is in the town of Dominicus Americanus and has a public parking lot; you can rent beach chairs.
