GUANACASTE AND THE NORTHWEST The nations northwest region is distinct for both its climate and culture, and is fully deserving of a weeks visit. Vast tracts are protected with national parks and nature reserves that offer dramatic scenery and tremendous diversity; all are easily accessed by branch roads off the Pan-Am Highway.
