Ponta da Lagoinha

One of the best walks goes from the left corner of Praia da Ferradura up to the Ponta da Lagoinha. During low tide, you can swim in the pool at this interesting rock formation. At the incoming tide, this area is a roar of white waves crashing onto the rocks. Either way, it’s an amazing view. You can continue out to Praia do Forno along this beautiful coastline, then take a dirt road out to the point looking out over Ilha do Boi. From there, it’s not far to the Mirante do Forno, one of the highest points on the peninsula. The hike is not difficult and takes about two hours each way. You can also turn in toward the Centro at any time along the way.
