Maria Fumaça Maria Fumaça (Smokey Mary) is the name of the train that has hauled travelers and cargo along the windy tracks between São João del Rei and Tiradentes for more than 100 years. The train itself is a functioning, antique steam locomotive, now running on oil. In the train station complex is a museum featuring old train cars and wagons, documents, and photographs from the train’s history. The museum is open from 8 a.m.5 p.m. MondaySunday and is closed for lunch. |
