Igreja Nossa Sra. do Rosário

Considered by many to be the most enchanting of all the churches in Ouro Preto, Rosário (Largo do Rosário, no phone, noon–4:45 p.m. Tue.–Sat., noon–3:30 p.m. on Sun., mass starts at 4 p.m. on Sun., free) is the only church built in a round format. It was influenced by Italian architectural designs of the same period, which were sent to Ouro Preto by the Catholic Church. Built in 1709 by the brotherhood of slaves of the Rosário, the church holds a special place in Ouro Preto history.
