With nearly 1,000 stores and outlets, Barro Preto offers everything from casual beach wear to jeans to formal evening gowns and business suits. You’ll find numerous factory outlets that offer quantity discounts for resellers, plus fabric and supply stores, indoor malls, and collectives. Many stores do not accept credit cards and there aren’t many banks in the immediate vicinity, so if you bring cash for a little shopping spree, be sure to catch a taxi to avoid walking through the surrounding neighborhoods. Keep in mind that stores in this area sell to resellers from all over the state and are not particularly oriented to tourists. And remember to always ask for a discount when paying cash.
