Fiesta de la Tradición

Since 1934, this November festival has feted San Antonio’s gaucho heritage with guided visits to historic sites, lectures by top folklorists, crafts fairs, and folkloric music and dance—plus, of course, flamboyant displays of horsemanship. While the principal Día de la Tradición is theoretically November 10, the festivities normally stretch over two weekends, climaxing on the final Sunday. Reservations are critical for anyone who wants to stay in San Antonio proper rather than in the surrounding countryside or neighboring towns.
