EL SALTO PARK AND WATERFALL Beyond the downtown, streets give way to paths that lead to Mazamitlas scenic outdoors. Be sure to include the private park (open daily 9 a.m.5 p.m.) that surrounds El Salto waterfall. Get there by walking south on Juárez a few blocks from the plaza; at the dead-end street, turn right and continue three blocks and turn left at Paseo los Cazos. Continue about three long blocks, past an intersection, to the horse rental station. Past that another long downhill block is the entrance to El Salto park, on the right. Pay the entrance fee and continue past a restaurant and picnic tables. Follow the trail downhill through the pine-shaded grounds to the scenically precipitous rock-wall waterfall. |
