Milwaukee Wave
Also in the major leagues, though a bit out of the mainstream, are the professional indoor soccer Milwaukee Wave (414/224-9283, www.milwaukeewave.com).
Milwaukee Admirals
Also playing in the Bradley Center are the Milwaukee Admirals, of the American Hockey League. The AHL is a bruising minor-league quasifarm system of the National Hockey League (NHL), and if you follow hockey now and again you’ll see retread veterans or up-and-coming college players on the rosters.
College Athletics
The local hometown Division 1A Golden Eagles of Marquette University, the perennially popular basketball team, also play at the Bradley Center. Top-notch, the program is consistently ranked in the top 20 nationally.
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers are known for excellence in Division 1A sports, including basketball and especially soccer.
Milwaukee Mile
At Wisconsin State Fair Park, the Milwaukee Mile is a legendary stop on the Indy car and CART circuit in the summer.
