Air Canada Jazz, a connector airline for Air Canada, offers scheduled flights to all cities and many larger towns within British Columbia and Alberta. Flights are booked through Air Canada (514/369-1386 or 888/247-2262, www.aircanada.com).

Pacific Coastal Airlines (604/273-8666 or 800/663-2872, www.pacific-coastal.com) flies to towns on Vancouver Island, along the Sunshine Coast, and as far north as the Queen Charlotte Islands from Vancouver and Victoria.

Harbour Air (604/274-1277 or 800/665-0212, www.harbour-air.com) links Vancouver, Victoria, and Nanaimo with scheduled seaplane service.

Hawk Air (250/635-4295 or 800/487-1216, www.hawkair.net) flies throughout northern British Columbia from Vancouver.

Central Mountain Air (250/877-5000 or 888/865-8585, www.flycma.com) serves towns throughout both British Columbia and Alberta, but the only direct link between the two is a daily Edmonton–Fort St. John flight.

The main northern carrier is First Air (613/254-6200 or 800/267-1247, www.firstair.ca), which flies as far south as Edmonton, as well as to Inuvik and Whitehorse, and throughout Nunavut from Yellowknife.

With flights from Calgary and Edmonton, Canadian North (867/873-4484 or 800/661-1505, www.canadiannorth.com) links all the major northern centers with daily flights, and flies as far south as Calgary and Ottawa.

Meanwhile, Northwestern Air (867/872-2216 or 877/872-2216, www.nwal.ca) flies to Yellowknife via Hay River and Fort Smith from Edmonton.

Finally, Air North (867/668-2228 or 800/661-0407, www.flyairnorth.com) flies to Whitehorse and throughout the Yukon from Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton.
